Charities

Before NovaTech opened one of the NovaTech owners was a foster care advocate.

Working directly with the charities below Jeni has a special affection for them.  If  you ever have a few bucks laying around  or some volunteer time and want to give it to charities that make difference and don't waste their money, please consider California Youth Connection, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and The  Youth Law Center.

The Youth Law Center is a public interest law firm that works to protect children in the nation's foster care and juvenile justice systems from abuse and neglect, and to ensure that they receive the necessary support and services to become healthy and productive adults.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are everyday people who are trained and then appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children. When a CASA volunteer is appointed to a child's case, he or she spends time with the social workers, foster parents, family, and most importantly- the child. The advocate then provides the judge with information that assists in providing a unique and heartfelt understanding of the child's needs. A CASA volunteer remains with each child until they are placed in a safe, permanent and nurturing home.
